First up this week is an article that I actually thought was on the site. Physiological Testing Versus Performance Testing must have slipped through the cracks somehow. Anthony Renna actually found some of the article contained in another piece but today’s version is less hockey-specific. I referenced this article in a forum post and then was informed that the article was not on the site. Today we’ll solve that problem.
Next up is another article from Tom Sullivan. Sully is another Boyle’s Gym kid who has grown up to be a great coach. I think this is what I am most proud of in my career. Making the Case for Strength Coaches is a thoughtful look at how kids and parents go about the process of information gathering and provides some common sense help for marketing yourself.
Next up is part 1 of Using the FMS in Team Settings. This article will make Anthony proud as it comes from my file of Articles to be Finished. Bruce Kelly already wrote a similar article but, I feel they are different enough to warrant publishing mine also.
Video of the Week
Video of the week is the TRX Kneeling Rollout. I like both the kneeling and the standing version of this exercise as progressions for rollouts.
Don’t forget to check out the StrengthCoach Podcast at www.strengthcoachpodcast.com.
Also make sure you check out www.strengthandconditioningwebinars.com. This week Anthony added a webinar with Gray Cook that I’m sure many of you will want to check out.
Last but not least, keep your eye out for an announcement about Functional Strength Coach 3.0. I think it should be ready to go soon.
Just a reminder, the articles and videos go up over the course of the week. Generally one each day. Hope you enjoy the week.
