More Trouble for the Biggest Loser

As everyone knows I hate the Biggest Loser. I think the show is the worst thing to happen to fitness in my lifetime. Just to keep everyone up to date it appears that the trainers move into the world of fat loss supplements is not working out as planned.

Take a look at this.

The good thing for me is I only watched one episode. I spare myself the aggravation. Maybe I should watch. I probably would get a blog post a week.

  2. I saw an episode once where Jillian proclaimed (not a direct quote) she was the best trainer and new everything there was about weight loss. I believe she said something in the direction of best ever or best in the world. I’ve been doing this for some time now. I’ve learned that we know very little about the human body when you start asking better questions. Unfortunately, most believe we can find the “truth” around the next corner. Maybe this is because of marketing? Human nature? Gullibility? Who knows? But it really is frustrating to “stick to the plan” that medical advice recommends and constantly hear “well that isn’t good enough.” Maybe the better question should be, “How long did it take to get to your current fitness level (term used loosely here.)” And after the clients response, “Well give me ‘x’ (insert the years here) of solid training to get your body perfect now. Yes, you can pay in installments because I will be adding months, if not years, back to your life.” Sorry, had to vent because I saw that episode a few months back just scrolling through the channels and it still frustrates me to even think anyone knows it all in this field. Be realistic and stay humble.

Thanks for sharing Coach Boyle. Keep the posts coming!

I am a strong believer in not allowing clients to touch supplements,if you are a trainer. Leave that to others!

Good for you. Keep it up.

  5. I have a STRONG dislike for Jillien Michaels, and BL. However I do enjoy watching the show and then writing every mistake, every error, every incorrect movement pattern and false claim they make in my blogs. Helps me be a better trainer; not just saying they suck, but then being able to pick apart why they suck.

  6. It is painful just reading that. I am not familiar with the show, and for that, I am glad!
