The Best Book of the Last Year

I just finished John Maxwell’s Today Matters. I don’t know if I have ever folded more pages or highlighted more text in a book. When I finished yesterday I ordered 20 copies for our entire staff at Mike Boyle Strength and Conditioning. The last section on planning for personal growth is worth the price of the book. I can only tell you that this might be the best ten dollars you will spend all year.

Here is just one sample of the many insights in the book:

” time is an equal opportunity employer, but how we treat time is not equal. Time is like a block of marble. Give a block of marble to an average person and you end up with a block of marble. But, put in the hands of a master sculptor and watch what happens.”

It’s on my amazon wish list (along with many others!). You once told to read incessantly. This year I decided to make a record of how many books I’ve read; 22 so far. I heard that AC reads approx 50 a year and that Vern had read 106 by August!
