Running Five Minutes a Day?

A new study just out showed that those who run five minutes a day live longer than those who don’t. Surprisingly, running more didn’t help and actually hurt if you went over 20 miles a week.

I think you could probably substitute “aerobic exercise” for running. Don’t think there is any real magic to running but getting the HR up seems good.

Functional Training Handbook

Just wanted to let everyone know that The Functional Training Handbook is out. The book was edited by Craig Liebenson and features chapters by myself ( ice hockey), Eric Cressey ( baseball), Art Horne and Brijesh Patel ( basketball), as well as a host of others. I think this will become a “must read” in our industry. You get a great breakdown on the concept of functional training with specific chapters on training for a number of sports.
